INANNA - Animated Short

In Production

Suresh Cedrick - Producer

Inspired by the Hymn of Inanna, a poem written by the first author known by name Enheduanna (2285-2250 BCE), the ancient Sumerian goddess of death and rebirth. The film is a contemplative visual journey that creates its own poetry as it explores varieties of sorrow, and the human responses to the transient nature of life. This experimental film combines original art and photography with Al processing to express a unique, dreamlike, melancholic, and poetic vision.

Projects Under Development

Suresh Cedrick has multiple projects in development across film and television.

As Mentioned above, he is currently working on two short films. The Burden, an animated short he wrote and directed, which follows a young girl and her father as they try to save a baby robin that has fallen from its nest. The Thrift Store, also written and directed by Suresh, tells the story of a young boy who develops an unlikely affection for a girl in his classroom amid the catastrophic events of the Dust Bowl in 1930s Oklahoma. The Thrift Store will be shot as a featured film in 2027. Both films are in production.

On the television front, he is producing Circulation, a TV mini-series set to premiere on February 27, 2025. This anthology follows a $100 bill as it moves through various Toronto communities, revealing the interconnected lives it touches.

Suresh also has several domestic animal stories in development, including a feature documentary on the global street dog crisis and a short/potential feature exploring the value of life. Written by Suresh Cedrick Pereira, these scripts are currently in development, with more details to come.

The documentary, Awakecanine, examines the staggering reality that nearly 80% of the world's billion dogs are strays. Many countries struggle with ethical, political, and religious dilemmas, often resorting to mass euthanasia or brutal killings. Even in developed nations, millions of dogs and cats are abandoned, left to uncontrolled breeding, or euthanized in shelters.

However, change is happening. Countries are increasingly adopting humane solutions like catch-sterilize-release programs, recognizing that neglect only perpetuates the problem. This film explores the evolving global response and the cultural, emotional, and political forces shaping it.

Awakecanine seeks to uncover the most effective and ethical solutions-because doing nothing is no longer an option.

Suresh Cedrick Pereira is also working on the incubation of a story on the action that worked towards eliminating bull fighting in a major city in Spain.
